## Contracts and sales practices

- Door-to-door badge: Yes.
- Sales notes: Confirmed. TriGuard posted a seasonal 1099 door-to-door summer sales job for Seattle on Indeed. In a BBB complaint response, the company said ‘many of our summer door to door sales [reps] are through a 3rd party agency.’ Of the 102 BBB complaint narratives we read (2023–2026), 50 mention ‘door’ and 25 mention a tablet or iPad signature. The company’s terms also include a 3-business-day cancellation (rescission) clause. Customers also describe signing up in person with route technicians. No city solicitor-permit records were found.
- A discounted initial service is tied to at least one year of service. Cancelling early triggers an early termination fee of up to 75% of the remaining contract value ($75 minimum). (counted in the score)
- Cancelling within the 72-hour rescission window may still require paying the full, undiscounted cost of the initial service. The terms also say the buyer can cancel before midnight of the third business day unless services are already completed.
- Late payments: $75 collection charge, 1.5% per month on past-due accounts, $35 returned-check fee, and $25 per card or ACH dispute or chargeback.
- A money-back credit of the last service payment requires two consecutive re-treatments for the same covered pest in the same location inside the home.
- In a BBB complaint response, the company said a 12-month quarterly agreement is 5 services (1 initial + 4 quarterly). After the term, service continues until cancelled with 30 days’ written notice. (counted in the score)

- Washington Secretary of State (CCFS) registry blocked by bot verification. Washington legal name and UBI 604110154 are unconfirmed beyond the WSDA record, where the UBI is applicant-supplied.
- Idaho ISDA lookup only searches individual applicators by name; there is no company-level pesticide business lookup. Idaho company pesticide licensing is not verified.
- Ownership type shown as “Unknown”: no source states independent, PE or parent ownership.
- Legal/regulatory: CourtListener showed no case-law results for ‘TriGuard Pest Control’; its RECAP hits for ‘Triguard’ were unrelated entities. Web searches (October 12, 2026) for AG actions, settlements, lawsuits, FTC orders and consent orders/AVCs naming TriGuard in Washington, Oregon or Idaho returned nothing about the company (results concerned other pest firms). The Idaho AG, Oregon DOJ and FTC case databases and WSDA/ODA/ISDA enforcement records were not queried directly. - Verifier October 11, 2026: The Google Maps Richland listing often loads in a ‘limited view’ without reviews for a logged-out headless browser. Its reviews were read on a later retry.

### Open questions

- Washington legal entity and UBI 604110154 are unconfirmed: the Washington SOS (CCFS) is bot-blocked, and WSDA says the UBI is applicant-supplied.
- Idaho company-level pesticide licensing is not verified. The ISDA lookup only searches individual applicators.
- The 2017 start: BBB shows ‘Business Incorporated: 4/15/2017’, but the Idaho LLC (3833815) was filed 04/03/2020. The inactive Oregon foreign LLC ‘TRIGUARD PEST CONTROL, LLC’ (1639089-90) may be the earlier entity, but its detail page was not opened.
- WSDA lists the Vancouver branch at ‘12308 Ne 256th St Bldg P Unit 1611’, but the website and Google show 12308 NE 56th St #1611. This is likely a WSDA typo, but it is unconfirmed.
- The Everett branch (2615 W Casino Rd) appears only in WSDA records, not on the company’s location list.
- Lawsuits, AG/FTC actions and pesticide enforcement were not searched exhaustively (no search engine available). The absence of legal items is not proof that none exist.
- Ownership type is unknown: Oregon SOS lists one member (Doug Wrigley), but no source states the ownership structure.
