How they score
The Handshake Score is a weighted average of five factors, each scored from 0 to 10 from verified records. The percentage beside each factor is its weight. Each score links to the deductions behind it on the company’s review.

Contract terms
Terms as recorded from the linked sources.
Pointe Pest Control 13 terms
Ongoing service auto-continues after the first year until the customer cancels.10
Billing is per service at time of service; details are in the individual contract.10
Discount offered for paying a year in advance.10
Termite and bed bug work is not in regular service; separate inspection and agreement.10
One-time services are not recommended; typical plan is quarterly.10
Quarterly home program with free return visits between services (company page).15
Guarantee: free re-service, then refund of last service payment if problem persists.10
Promotional price: $31 initial general pest control service in October 2026 (company Instagram feed embedded on site).16
No public price list; quote only after inspection. Third-party reviewer notes contract/cancellation-fee terms are not published.17
Two BBB complainants (Sept 2024, June 2026) say written or online cancellation was not accepted and they were told to phone; one says she was then referred to a salesperson.18
Company-stated early termination fee of $95 on the 12-month plan (company reply on Angi, Moses Lake branch listing, June/July 2017, before the 2023 PestCo acquisition). The reply says customers choose between a single treatment and a 12-month plan, and the fee clause is printed above the signature line and repeated in the contract’s Terms and Conditions.19
Two independent first-hand reports of a $95 cancellation fee on PNW branch listings: a customer of the Spokane branch (Angi Pasco listing, April 2013) says he was told by phone that the only way to cancel ‘per the signed agreement’ was to pay $95; a Moses Lake-listing customer (June 2017) says that, after being told at sign-up they could cancel any time, they were told of the $95 fee when they asked to cancel (the reviewer adds that the fee is in the contract). Both reports predate the 2023 PestCo acquisition.14, 19
The website Terms of Use (PestCo, effective 7/20/2023) require binding AAA arbitration and an individual-only (no class) basis for disputes ‘relating to the application, interpretation, implementation or validity of these Terms’, with Delaware law and St. Louis venue. These terms govern use of the website; no source shows whether the residential service agreement has an arbitration clause.20
Orkin 9 terms
Orkin does not publish prices; cost is quoted locally.3
Residential guarantee: free re-service between scheduled treatments and a money-back guarantee (company terms).10
The About page describes the residential money-back guarantee as 30 days.3
Orkin says its commercial ‘Triple Guarantee’ includes a 2-hour response/24-hour on-site guarantee, reimbursement of regulatory fines caused solely by pests, and three 60-day complimentary-service guarantees (company terms).10
Introductory promotion shown on the homepage: $50 off the first recurring service.6
Rollins (parent) says its pest and termite services are performed under contracts that specify pricing.4
Customer report (Eugene, Oregon Google review): a 30-day cancellation notice is required.11
Customer report (Everett, Washington Google review): about a 40% price increase within a year, attributed to a contract price-increase clause.12
Customer report (Kent, Washington Google review): a one-time wasp treatment came with a 30-day warranty.13

Bonds: the Merchants Bonding bond effective 1/13/2022 shows a ‘Suspend Date’ of 1/1/2023 and was cancelled 8/2/2023, before license expiration; the next bond (Travelers) took effect 1/23/2024; that bond shows suspend and cancellation dates of 10/19/2025; the current Travelers bond took effect 12/17/2025. The earlier Merchants rows also carry ‘Suspend Date’ entries (1/1/2020, 1/1/2021, 1/1/2022) with no cancellation, so that column alone does not show a suspension. Liability insurance: the Imperium policy ended 1/1/2023 and the next policy (Everest) began 1/31/2023; the current policy (Republic Vanguard) runs to 1/31/2027. CCB does not say which period its ‘Yes’ to a past administrative suspension for lack of bond/insurance covers, so these gaps are recorded as the history pages show them, not as confirmed suspension periods.75, 76

Orkin Exterminating Company settled cases with five states and D.C. over termite-service advertising. The states alleged that Orkin claimed its “Orkin Foam System” would keep termites from returning, which could not be substantiated, and that its ads implied a full warranty it did not offer. The settlement bars unsupported efficacy claims and misstatement of guarantee terms, requires a “limited guarantee” or “limited warranty” disclosure on any advertised guarantee, and lets consumers with disputes under $10,000 use cheaper consumer arbitration. Orkin paid $150,000 for investigation costs.56, 57
