About Uri Mittelman

At Handshake

Uri Mittelman is credited as Editor on Handshake’s rankings, company reviews and head-to-head comparisons, and on How we review.

Background

Uri Mittelman is the editor of Handshake D2D News & Reviews, where he oversees how the site’s research on the companies that sell door to door is presented to readers. He lives and works in Redmond, Washington, in the region Handshake’s first rankings cover.

He is studying Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Washington Bothell, where he has made the Dean’s List five times and received the 2026 Undergraduate Leadership and Service Award in Computing and Software Systems. He also spent nearly three years as a teaching assistant there, grading and mentoring fellow students.

As a software engineer, he has shipped production features at early-stage AI companies: full-stack OAuth client and API-key management backed by PostgreSQL at Propper AI, a system for keeping private data hidden from AI models at Joze.ai, and a Slack bot and custom ChatGPT agent at Chordio.

Amazon Web Services selected him as an AWS Student Builder Campus Leader, leading cloud and AI adoption across the UW Bothell campus through classroom talks, club workshops and campus events. He is a director and technical lead of ESEC at the University of Washington, a student entrepreneurship organization; founded and led the UW Bothell Startup Club; and teaches coding and robotics as a lead instructor.

The principle he shares with students guides his editing at Handshake: document your work clearly and stand behind what you publish, so others can trust it and build on it.

Editorial standards

The research behind each page is done by the Handshake Research Desk. Facts are gathered from public sources, each saved with the link it came from, and a verifier re-checks every fact against its source. The Handshake Score is computed from those facts under the published rules. No company can pay to change a rating, and sourced corrections are made on the page.
